Blackwater?

I believe the river is a Blackwater river but am reluctant to put it in the article without being positive. Does anyone know? Pollinator 02:51, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Map

Claimed Garden of Eden site section

This section seems like a WP:COATRACK and WP:UNDUE. In order to understand the Apalachicola River, is it especially important to know that some obscure preacher made a claim 100 years ago about a small town in Florida being the original Garden of Eden? Do we need a long quote from the Bible to explain what the Garden of Eden was, and do we need a picture of a 1615 painting by a Flemish artist who probably never visited or even heard of the Apalachicola River? Is one particular 4-mile hiking trail (sourced with a reference to a tourism promotion website) especially important because it was named after this dubious claim? (By the way, I see there is also a section about this in the Bristol, Florida article, and I wonder if this story was added to both articles by the same editor.) —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 18:15, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've always lived in Florida and I've seen that story many times. I agree that it is, at best, of very limited significance to the article. There is a great deal of real description and history that should be included the article. I see no reason to include someone's fantasy. Donald Albury 19:37, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
